 INTERIM JOINT MATRICULATION BOARD (IJMB) ANNOUNCES THE RELEASE OF 2023 EXAMINATIONS RESULTS This is to notify candidates who sat for the 2022/23 Interim Joint Matriculation Board Examination (IJMBE) that the IJMBE results will be released officially on Monday 9th, October 2023 by the moderating body Ahmadu Bello University Zaria (ABU). The IJMB results being released on Monday 9th, October 2023 was conducted in July 2023 under the moderation and supervision of ABU Zaria. Therefore, candidates who sat for the examination are enjoined to get their IJMB results by proceeding to the institution where the programme was done without any further delay.

Organised labour have suspended its planned nationwide indefinite strike action for the next month. This was contained in a memorandum of understanding signed Monday by the NLC President, Joe Ajaero, and General Secretary, Emmanuel Ugboaja; as well as the TUC President, Festus Osifo, and Secretary General, Nuhu Toro. The three-page document was also signed by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Simon Lalong; Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Dr Nkeiruka Onyejeocha; and Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris. “The NLC and TUC accept to suspend for 30 days the planned Indefinite Nationwide strike scheduled to begin, Tuesday, the 3rd of October, 2023,” the MoU reads in part. “The Federal Government grants a wage award of N35,000 (thirty-five thousand Naira) only to all Federal Government workers beginning from the month of September pending when a new national minimum wage is expected to have been signed into law.” The decisions come at the end of a...

  The Trade Union Congress a few hours ago concluded its National Executive Council meeting following deliberations on the new wage award for civil servants in the country by President Bola Tinubu, to cushion the effects of subsidy removal on Premium Motor Spirit, popularly known as petrol. The labour centre is expected to meet with representatives of the government on whether the offer by the government was accepted by the members.   The national deputy president of the TUC, Tommy Etim, made this known in an interview with our correspondent in Abuja on Monday.

A statement by WAEC on Monday revealed that Dangut, until his appointment was the Deputy Registrar/HNO’s office. Dr Amos Josiah Dangut Dr. Amos Josiah Dangut has been appointed as Head of the Nigeria National Office by the West African Examinations Council, WAEC. Dangut succeeds Patrick Areghan, whose tenure ends this month. A statement by WAEC made available to The PUNCH on Monday revealed that Dangut, until his appointment was the Deputy Registrar/HNO’s office. The statement stated that he joined the service of WAEC in 1998 as an Assistant Registrar II and rose through the ranks to become a Deputy Registrar in April 2018. He won the Nigeria Examinations Committee’s commendation for transparent conduct of examination between 2000 and 2006.
